Happiness, Sin, and Self- Kindness
Where did anyone get the idea that
to feel guilty about wanting to be happy?
How can we wish for the happiness of others
if we are alienated from our own desire for happiness?

Our Responsibility
We are the first and only individuals who are charged with the task of satisfying our basic needs such as procuring food, shelter and the like, and if we don’t do this we may perish. But the desire peace of mind and joy are also inside of us, and that, I believe is also our responsibility and no one else's. It is for each one of us to embody and support within ourselves, and that also supports others in that end. If we don't respect happiness enough to pursue it for ourselves, we can never model that or even support it wholly.
Happiness is a spiritual quality. In fact, being unhappy was originally one of the seven deadly sins. Apparently some ancient members of the church decided that was inappropriate and slothfulness was put in its place.
Is happiness a sin? How can it be when there was never any Holy Being who did not want and encourage their followers to be happy? Not one of these High Beings promoted suffering for suffering’s sake, and the happiness of those around them gave them great joy. They nurtured and taught happiness and contentment by word and deed in daily praise and gratitude, as any wisdom would. How could it be otherwise, for who would want to come to Spirit if that means nothing but unrequited pain?
Instead of running from or shaming the truth of our desire for happiness, we might do well to learn to to embrace instead, and grow from. When we accept the truth that we want happiness, and that happiness is something valuable to share and work for, when that is something okay to want for ourselves, then it will be something we want for others too.

Spirituality is about developing virtue, especially the primary virtues of truthfulness and love. Its is about becoming like the Great Spirit spoken of in all the great faiths of the world and embodied in the souls of all the Prophets.
To become like unto those amazing Beings, the embodiment of Spirit or the Universal Force that moves us at our core, we must develop love, compassion and a truthful heart.
Selfishness never serves the selfish person, but self- kindness does.
Self kindness considers the bigger picture—that is that
we are all connected and this must be considered in the mix of everything.
> Our world is often not so truthful,
so we may need help to develop this truthful view of things...
The Way of true Self- Kindness is also the way of truthfulness & the Truthful Heart...
