 Is Dieting Working?
​     In spite of the many diets and dieting crazes, the U.S. is still one of the fattest and sickest countries in the world. 95% of all diets wind up in overeating and weight gain after the ending  of the diet.  This "yo- yo diet syndrome" results in the dieter gaining even more weight than was lost. Many dieters have experienced this kind of failure again and again, sometimes to the point of despair.

          My work with weight-loss clients  is especially geared to give the shove to yo- yo dieting, 

             as we focus on sane, sober, steady progress while creating a solid base for long- term 
             maintenance and health, attending to inner needs as well as those of the body.
          Tools of loving kindness and self- acceptance are raised above over- concern with mere 
           appearances or numbers on the scale.
 You will learn to listen to your body, to tune in and 
           give it what it needs, and to value highly the importance of that.
             You will learn to nurture your body with more than food, and to feed the needs of body, 
              soul and mind on a regular schedule.
                       All this is part of a sane and healthy balance of life.

    In the world of dieting, some of the most vital factors  for weight- loss and maintenance are ignored.
        One fad follows another with little regard to the dangers of the 
        "yo- yo dieting syndrome", and the resultant accumulated weight gain.  
              

  The best diet is a healthy lifestyle that’s never abandoned. When weight loss is achieved, we may add to what we’ve been eating but we keep a good balance that nurtures our bodies and souls instead of using the food as a comfort or resting place.
